About Trees of Joy
Originating from Canada in 2016, the whimsy and wonder of Trees of Joy made its way down under to help spread some Christmas cheer to our wish families in 2024.
In a Make-A-Wish Australia-first, 17 wish families received their custom tree, as imagined by the wish kids, and decorated by generous Tree Sponsors. From Taylor Swift to the Carlton Footy Team, each tree was as unique as the child themselves.
Opening the doors to the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel in Melbourne, which was transformed into a 'magical forest', the children rushed inside to find their decorated tree, followed closely by parents, family members, and carers. It was a magical and joyful moment for all involved.
I don't have the words to express how beautiful, magical, and emotional the whole experience was. Patrick has not stopped talking about it and having the tree in our lounge makes us all smile the minute we walk in there. Our hearts are full, we are so lucky and so grateful. Truly, thank you.
