Sophie's magical wish came true, thanks to you!

Sophie is a unicorn expert and thanks to your regular support over the last 12 months, she recently got to meet some magical unicorns.

Sophie's Wish

Every 5-year-old deserves a party with unicorns and mermaids, and Sophie was no exception! And thanks to your generous support, Sophie's wish came true.

With a love for pink and purple, a big smile and even bigger dance moves, Sophie isn't your typical 5-year-old either. She's a unicorn expert.

Her favourites are the rainbow-coloured unicorns who live in the unicorn forest. Being amazed at how these magical creatures grow wings and walk in the sky, Sophie wanted to fly in a helicopter to visit her favourite four unicorns.

She also hoped they would give her unicorn toys, bath bombs and love hearts for her hair – like any good unicorn would.

Heading into the forest

Being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia took a life-changing toll on Sophie and her family. But it didn't stop Sophie's wish from coming true, thanks to wonderful people like you who regularly support Make-A-Wish.

Sophie was nothing but smiles from the moment the helicopter circled the forest, trying to spot the unicorns. Older brother Alex was the clue master on the day, helping lead Sophie to the magical garden where unicorns were just the beginning of the fun.

To Sophie's surprise, fifteen of her friends were there as she rode in on a unicorn. Wonderfully dressed head to toe in unicorn dresses and accessories, fit for a magical tea party. Their afternoon was made even more special with their very own Ferris wheel, carousel and teacup ride.

An exciting day

Make-A-Wish volunteer Kym was lucky enough to take Sophie's hand as she entered the unicorn forest. She admits she was nearly as excited about the day as Sophie.

"I was jumping up and down and waving the entire time Sophie was circling in the helicopter trying to find the unicorns! It was such an honour to be involved with Sophie's Wish Journey. Her mum made Sophie a unicorn dress for the day- the whole family was so excited and made the day extraordinary for Sophie.

"I thought Sophie might initially be shy, but the first thing she wanted to do was show everyone her unicorn dress when she got off the helicopter. Only then would she consider putting a jacket on over it!"

Thank you!

Sophie's mum Amanda had her own special moment, too, as she took a minute to make a wish in the wishing fountain on her way to the tea party– wishing above all for good health for Sophie and her family.
